TRK is not a sniffer application and it doesn't work as winpcap. Winpcap is a kernel driver that monitors traffic. TRK has no drivers at all. If you know what is sniffer, feel free to monitor TRK traffic.

We suggest you to check TRK on http://www.virustotal.com/ to be sure that TRK is harmless application.

EDIT: Google Chrome blocks downloading the software the same way it blocks access to malware sites. Why?

Thank you. We will check it. IE9/10 are blocking all software that user can download from any site, except very popular sites. User needs to click that he understands possible problems and only then IE allows to download the .exe file. It's possible that Google did the same trust mechanism as Microsoft.

We have 2 TRK versions. TRK for Linux/MacOS works as HTTP proxy. User needs to enter TRK ip:port on the torrent client's settings and all HTTP traffic from torrent client will go through TRK Java. Linux and MacOS have no easy way to check traffic from specified application that works on all Linux/MacOS devices. We don't like the idea to sniff all system's traffic and look for torrent protocol because it can be a lot of data and it uses cpu a lot. User will notice that system works slower than before. It makes sniffing like WinPcap useless.

About 93% of our users are Windows users. Windows XP and newer allows to monitor traffic by type for specified application, not the whole system traffic and not whole application traffic. TRK works only for HTTP(S) requests of supported torrent clients. Let's say abc.exe torrent client is supported. If you rename it to abcd.exe, then TRK will be not activated for it.

TRK Monster's idea is to work like WinPcap, but for supported torrent clients only and for HTTP(S) protocols only. WinPcap uses kernel driver, it sniffs all system's traffic from all applications. TRK doesn't use any drivers and TRK doesn't sniff any peers traffic because TRK doesn't need it to do the job.
