Stuck on "Waiting connections"

Hi,

I am trialing the product on my Mac and it doesn't appear to be working correctly. Using uTorrent, I have set up the proxy connection to match the port in TRK, downloaded a new torrent and then waited. After 5 minutes or so, TRK still shows a "Waiting connections on 3012 port." No data is being downloaded.

uTorrent shows a small number of seeds and appears to download data but extremely slowly.

I am using a torrent from tvtorrents.com if that makes a difference?

Hi,

uTorrent on Mac doesn't work with HTTP proxies, sorry. You can use Vuze, Deluge, TransmissionBT instead.

Ahhh, that makes sense then. Thanks so very much for the response. I'll give one of those other clients a try.

So I'm now trying Vuze and TRK shows a number of trackers, some of which are the tvtorrents.com trackers which is great. It still says "Waiting connections..." though and the stats don't seem to update at all. The torrent though is downloading.

Also, where are the proxy settings in Transmission? I'm reading that they have been removed from the product for Mac, is that still the case?

In most cases torrent client updates stats every 30-90 mins. Please You wait a bit and you will see the updated values.

"Waiting connections..." means that TRK is running fine (HTTP proxy port was opened successfully). If TRK has any problems, it will show the error.

Also, where are the proxy settings in Transmission? I'm reading that they have been removed from the product for Mac, is that still the case?

You are correct. Sometimes users use old versions with proxy support if their isp doesn't allow to connect to the trackers or if the torrent tracker allows only several versions of transmission.
