licensing method

Post by gwolf2u » Sun Sep 13, 2009 10:28 am

well I will suggest another license check method
as far as I can get the current licensing method is sending some sort of information from PC (like ip address or so) and it checks with the server database if license is activated for that information

Well this is a good method but sometimes it hangs on "login" page when client starts.
I think a good way of avoiding this is by making a integrated login that will check license with a .dll or so. Also this has his own negative parts since dll's can be cracked. So I think the dll bits can be checked with the server in order to see if client is licensed.

Well hope you get what I mean by that.

We are thinking about it. Sometimes our hoster has problems and users cannot login.

yeah I know that is why I said a new method should be introduced
also activation using host database can be cheated with a file edit in windows (won't tell which one)
